PLACES AT LANG
One Resort. A Collection of Historic Places.
The places at Lang Resort unfold across the historic streets of Old Town Raahe. Here, stays, dining, Finnish design and experiences live within historic buildings that remain part of the town around them. Lang Resort is not contained within a single building. It unfolds across the historic streets of Old Raahe — in merchant houses, old homes and places given new life, each with its own character and purpose.
Stay, eat, gather, shop and experience the stories of Finland’s northern coast in places that have been part of the town long before they became part of Lang Resort.
THE WORLD OF LANG
Different Places. One Lang.
The places of Lang Resort are located within Old Town Raahe, a historic wooden town on Finland’s northern coast. What began with the historic Langin Kauppahuone has grown into a collection of places across Old Raahe.
They are not separate destinations. Together, they form the world of Lang — a place where historic buildings remain in use through hospitality, food, experiences, design and everyday life.
Walk between them through the wooden streets of Old Raahe and the town itself becomes part of the experience.

THE HEART OF LANG
Langin Kauppahuone
The Historic Merchant House
Langin Kauppahuone is where the world of Lang begins.
The story of the merchant house reaches back to 1699. Over the centuries, the world around it has changed, but the house remains part of the life of Old Raahe.
Today, guests sleep in rooms named after people connected to the history of Lang, begin their mornings around the breakfast table, stop for coffee or lunch and step into experiences inspired by the traditions and stories of the house.
It is not simply somewhere to visit. For guests staying at Lang, it becomes home for a while.

A NEW CHAPTER – Lang Old Fire Station
A New Gathering Place in an Old Landmark
A former fire station in the heart of Raahe is becoming a new gathering place in the world of Lang.
Lang Old Fire Station brings new life to a distinctive historic building through food, gatherings and experiences. Its restaurant, spaces for celebrations and events and new ways of discovering the stories of the town will give visitors and local people another reason to come together.
Its character is different from the old merchant house, but the idea behind it is the same: historic places remain alive when they are given a meaningful role in the present.

LIVE INSIDE OLD RAAHE – Historic Houses
Stay Beyond the Merchant House
The world of Lang continues beyond Langin Kauppahuone into historic homes around Old Raahe.
These houses offer a more independent way to stay while keeping you inside the historic town — among the same streets, courtyards and stories that make Old Raahe worth travelling to.
Each house has its own history and character.

The Captain Himanka´s House
The Captain Himanka´s House with Stories of the Sea
Just beside Langin Kauppahuone stands the historic house known in Raahe as The Captain Himanka´s House. Captain Himanka’s House is one of Lang Resort’s historic houses in Old Town Raahe.
The house is named after sea captain Johan Himanka (1858–1929), whose life belonged to the great age of sail when ships from Raahe travelled to ports around the world.
Today, the house offers a peaceful and more independent way to stay in the heart of Old Raahe — with the world of Lang just outside the door.

BEYOND OUR DOORS
Old Raahe Is Part of the Experience
The places of Lang do not stand apart from the town around them.
Step outside and Old Raahe continues the story through wooden streets, hidden courtyards, merchant houses and traces of a maritime town shaped by centuries of trade and life by the sea.
You can walk from one place to another, stop along the way and discover a town that is still lived in rather than preserved only to be looked at.
This is one of the things that makes Lang different.
The destination does not begin beyond the resort gates. There are no resort gates.
